As usual Rick Riordan has shocked all his fans with the incredible third book of the Heroes Of Olympus series "The Mark Of Athena". With the people of Camp Jupiter and Camp Half-Blood meeting each other after centuries the book has expressed the feeling of both the Romans and Greeks very well. After a long time Percy meets Annabeth and Jason meets Reyna. The drawbacks of the book are many but it is nothing compared to its story and the action. The mission to save Hazel's brother Nico leads them to the House of Hades which is the fourth book of the series. Parallel to it Annabeth has her own mission to follow the mark of Athena.
Riordan has written it well but has added too much romance to the book which is just unnecessary. With this there are some parts and incidents which have less or no relation to the main story and could have been avoided. When reading it feels as if Rick was forced to add unnecessary details just to make the book bigger. But in total the book is a good book and is much better than the first two parts. I give this book a three out of five.
